Dr. Ashley deMey grew up in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley area. Her family was never without a dog growing up, but she found her true passion for veterinary medicine shadowing at a local small animal hospital in high school. Dr. deMey attended UNCW for her undergraduate degree and graduated in 2016 before moving to Raleigh to become part of the Wolf Pack for veterinary school. While in veterinary school Dr. deMey worked at Leesville Animal Hospital as a veterinary assistant and couldn't wait to join the practice as an associate veterinarian upon graduation from NC State College of Veterinary medicine in May 2021.
Besides dog and cat medicine, Dr. deMey also enjoys exotic animal medicine, especially small mammals and reptiles. She has quite a few fur babies of her own - two dogs (Raven and Henry) as well as 3 cats (Heidi, Sammi, and Ava) - and she loves to share all the knowledge and experience that she's gained as both a veterinarian and a fellow pet-owner. In her spare time she enjoys hiking and spending time outside with her dogs, spending time with family and friends, and traveling the world.
