Dr. Stacy Amelio is originally from Chicagoland and moved to Raleigh to attend North Carolina State University where she received her Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degrees. Dr Amelio enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine but has specials interest in caring for the wide range of exotic animals she loves from rodents and reptiles to birds and fish. She has a passion for surgery with all animal types and has received training from board certified surgeons.
Dr Amelio will be providing behavioral consultations and rehabilitation for dogs with aggression, hyper submissiveness, and unwanted behaviors such as food aggression, anxiety, or destructive behavior. She is proud to have been able to successfully work with owners to rehabilitate dogs with all these behaviors. Dr. Amelio is an expert at utilizing low-stress handling techniques and a focus on client education to make sure your pet gets the medical care it needs in the most positive manner possible.
When not at work Dr. Amelio enjoys the outdoors, training, competing and playing with her pets, and playing board games. Her pets include dogs, cats, parrots, a 30 pound sulcata tortoise and a ferret.
